There are lot of people to whom we come across in our life and after sometime we forget. Some of them had done so much thing but they did not strike our mind. On the other hand there are also some people who made very simple small thing but are remembered in our mind forever. The gratitude to them came up saying a very small two word expression "Thank You". There are few people whom I remembered not for the great help made to me but for the nobleness I have seen in their heart. I have one friend who has made tremendous support while I learnt computer, I never forget him as he was a genuine friend who is always ready to help all . So whenever I achieve something in this computer field, a small word comes out from the bottom of my heart and that is THANK YOU. And you all know, today is Thank You Day, the day you can similarly wish people to whom you do feel that you can thank, thank them whole heartedly.

Can you imagine that Thanksgiving is just a couple of weeks away? But I can say that Thanksgiving is already in the air!!! And if you have not yet started off with your thanksgiving decoration, just be at it...no more delay. Otherwise you are sure to make a mess in haste. Remember, decorating the party floor has a great role to play, if you've planned to throw a thanksgiving dinner party on the thanksgiving day.

Doesn't really matter whether it's a gourd or pumpkin or pinecones, you can choose any or all of them to make an elegant Thanksgiving centerpieces to scale up the true spirit of Thanksgiving. A mini pumpkin candle holder in the middle of each Thanksgiving dinner table can give a special touch just like a cherry on a Christmas Cake. So why wasting time? Just set a plan and be at it!!!

Thanksgiving is almost at your threshold and I can smell the roast turkey in the air all around. So if you are on a weight reduction program -- just stop it for sometime, because this is really the worst time to be into it. It may sound crazy to you if you are on a diet but sometimes its really good for you too to break it -- especially when it comes to thanksgiving feasting. Thanksgiving is an event of food abundance and I'm sure you can't resist your temptation to have lots of it. But all I want to say is that, you should be bit conscious of what you eat instead eating almost nothing.

Just eat healthy instead of eating junk. And if you are planning to throw a thanksgiving party, it's really necessary that you should create a healthy food environment. And by this I'm sure you can create a real blast with lots of food.

Some of the good foods and some good thoughts can be a wonderful way to end up with a 'Happy Thanksgiving'! So best of luck!

Thanksgiving Day is a time to gather with family and friends to thank GOD for the many blessings bestowed by him on the nation and its citizens. However, to many people, its meaning is lost. It has become simply another day for huge meals, dinner parties, get-togethers or reunions. What does Thanksgiving mean to you? Do you really know what this day represents?

THANKSGIVING AND TURKEY- THE AFFILIATION

Thanksgiving Day is commonly associated with turkey -- so much so, that Thanksgiving is sometimes referred to as Turkey Day. Legend says that turkey was served at the original Thanksgiving meal; in order to maintain the tradition, turkey continues to be eaten at Thanksgiving today. Although juicy and tender butterball turkeys are the main cuisine of today's Thanksgiving celebrations, these birds were NOT the most popular centerpieces on the first Thanksgiving tables. In 1621 when the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians celebrated the first Thanksgiving, they were gobbling up many more food than just turkey. Since lobster, goose, duck, seal, eel, and cod were plentiful during this time, these food were most likely to be the main courses of this first feast. Deer meat and wild fowl are the only two items that historians know for sure were menu of this autumn celebration. So how did the turkey become the main mascot of modern-day Thanksgiving if we don't know for certain that turkeys were there at this first feast? The legend goes that Queen Elizabeth of 16th century England was feasting on roast goose during a harvest festival when news was delivered to her that the Spanish Armada, that was about to attack her beloved England, had sunk on its way. The queen was so pleased that she order a second goose to celebrate the great news. Thus, the goose became the favorite bird at harvest time in England. When the Pilgrims arrived in America from England, roasted turkey replaced roasted goose as the main cuisine because wild turkeys were more abundant and easier to find than geese. Therefore, we can conclude that although there is no real evidence that turkey was served at the Pilgrim's first thanksgiving, over the ages it has become an indispensable part of the Thanksgiving tradition.

THANKSGIVING – ANTIQUITY UNLEASHED

Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated in North America and is generally observed
as an expression of gratitude, usually to God. The most common view of its
origin is that it was to give thanks to God for the bounty of the autumn
harvest. Thanksgiving marks the start of the American holiday season.

It all started of when in August 1620, the Mayflower, a 180-ton ship, set sail
from Southampton, England. Her 103 passengers were to become the creators of
one of the nation’s most popular holidays. After weeks of plowing through the
tumultuous Atlantic waters, the pilgrims spotted Cape Cod, off the coast of
Massachusetts. Their intended location was off the Virginia coast, where other
pilgrims had begun colonies. The next few months would prove to be difficult and
trying. Of the original 103 pilgrims, only 56 survived the first, long, bleak
New England winter.

But, with the approaching of spring came new hope. The survivors built homes,
planted crops, made friendships with local Indian tribes, and traded with them.
The passing of winter allowed the pilgrims to labor and produce, causing the
colony to flourish. After reaping their first harvest in the fall of 1621, the
pilgrims dedicated a day for thanking God for the bounty He had blessed them
with. They had endured the many hardships that came with pioneering a new land.
They were especially grateful for their harvest. In 1817, the state of New York
adopted Thanksgiving Day as an annual holiday. In 1863, President Lincoln
appointed it as a national holiday, and gave a Thanksgiving proclamation.

Thanksgiving Day is nowadays celebrated as a time to gather with family and
friends to give thanks for the many blessings enjoyed by this nation and its
citizens. It is a day for huge meals, dinner parties, get-togethers or
reunions.
